1979年生まれ　三重県在住　1997年から『やまなみ工房』に所属 彼女は長年、縦に縫うことを繰り返し作品を生み出している。決まった五色もしくは七色の糸を一組として使用し一筋ごとに色を変え、隣に沿わせ縫い進めていく。縫い目には留めがなく、ただまっすぐに縫っている様にも見えるが、注視すると始めと終わりには一度返し縫いをし、作業中に引っ張っても抜けないようにと経験から独自に生み出した工夫が成されている。目の揃った緻密な縫いは、月日をかけ布の端から端へと帯状に広がりやがて布一面に施される。

born in 1979/ living in Mie/ at YAMANAMI since 1997 Noriko Tanaka always sews straight, and that is her sewing style. She uses five to seven different colors of threads. The straight stiches line up in order, side by side. She doesn’t make any stoppers in the end of the threads. Instead, to stop the threads from coming off, she sews twice at the beginnings and at the end of stitching. She has learned it from her own experience. She spends long periods of time sewing, and her fine seams eventually cover the entire cloth.
