Masayo Takiguchi sews overhand stitches sideways on the cloth. She repeats it many times with threads of different colors. Gradually, the cloth gets compressed and thick. The seams raised up this way get close and strong. Because the result looks like a mass of scales, she calls it a ‘monster’. She transforms various items into those ‘monsters’ with her broidery, such as T-shirts, jackets, or long undergarments.
